Actually, they totally do. You only have to watch a musical done in America and then done in the UK to notice it.

The saddest thing is that this was probably followed with raucous canned laughter.

This is such an awful, awful show.
The big problem with The Big Bang Theory is it pretends to be an intelligent comedy that people whose fields of interest require more than the average level of understanding of various sciences will find funny. Actually, it’s a pretty average sitcom, but the reason anyone who might be considered a nerd or a geek dislikes it is because it pretends to be clever, when in fact every joke is “LOOK AT THESE FUCKING NERDS THEY CARE ABOUT DOCTOR WHO AND ARE SOCIALLY AWKWARD WHAT LOSERS HAHAHAHA”.
